Club Lotto
Our club lotto draw took place in McMahon's Café Bar on Sunday evening last. The numbers drawn were 12, 13, 16, 27. There was no jackpot winner. €20 each to Kamryn Crotty c/o Blessing(Deano), Ryan McGahern c/o Farnham Hotel(Deano), Thomas Martin c/o Luna Lounge, Patricia Walsh c/o Gerry Bravender, Margaret Conaty c/o Veale's Pharmacy. Next week's draw will take place in McGinnity's on Monday night 1/6/2015. All club members are asked to support the lotto and to arrange that they are in for every lotto draw. Our lotto can be bought from Crowe's Butchers, Dunne's Bar, Veale's Pharmacy, Cavan Gifts, Maudis, McGinnity's Bar, Slieve Rossa, Luna Lounge, Abbey Bar, Smith's Footwear, The Farnham Arms Hotel, Blessing's Bar, McMahon's Bar or from any lotto committee member. There is also a facility for paying a yearly lotto subscription in advance. Bingo

Our bingo supporters are asked to note that our bingo on Friday next 29 May will again take place in the Farnham Arms Hotel carvery at 9pm. Thanks to our bingo patrons for their consistent support and to all our stewards. Our club lotto is on sale at bingo every Friday night.

U14

Our u14s registered a home victory over Mullahoran on Thursday last. They now meet Killygarry in the semi-final on Wednesday 27 May on the 3G pitch at 7.30pm. Please support. Best of luck to the players and the management.

Division 1A

Our seniors will meet Ramor United in Terry Coyle Park on Sunday next 31 May at 4pm. This is a division 1A game.

Division 3

Our division team have a home game against Mountnugent in Terry Coyle Park on Sunday next at 12 noon.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Francis and Ciara Graham who were married on Saturday last. Francis has lined out for many years with Cavan Gaels at all age groups. Best wishes to Francis and Ciara.

McRory and Corn na nÓg players

Congratulations to Luke Fortune, Shane Fortune, James Veale, Keenan Donohoe and Fintan Carolan who received their McRory (Ulster Senior Colleges) medals at a function in the Hotel Kilmore recently. The last Cavan Gaels players to win the coveted McRory medal were Aidan Elliot and Charlie O Donoghue in 1972. Well done also to Bradley Okapje, Daniel Murray, Mark Minehane, Michael Veale and Aran Creegan who were presented with their Corn na nÓg medals on the same night.

County Seniors

Hard luck to Cavan seniors who lost out to Monaghan by the narrowest of margins in the Ulster senior championship on Sunday last. Hard luck in particular to Niall Murray, Martin Dunne and Mickey Lyng who all took part in the game.

County Minors

Well done to the Cavan minors who had an emphatic victory over Monaghan in the Ulster minor championship on Sunday last. Luke Fortune and Shane Fortune played a key role in that game and well done to them. Comhghairdeas.

County Juniors
Cavan juniors were defeated by one point by Louth after extra time in the Leinster junior championship in Drogheda on Wednesday last. Three of our players featured on that team- Levi Murphy, Barry Fortune and Darragh Sexton.

Club Newsletter

The members of the newsletter editorial committee are collating material for the second issue which will appear in a few weeks' time. Race Night

There will be a race night in the Slieve Rossa on Friday 12 June at 8.30pm as part of the fundraising for the Gaels u14s who are travelling to the sunny southeast (Carlow, Kilkenny and Wexford) to take part in the national Féile Peile na nÓg from 26-28 June. €10 to sponsor a horse, €10 to sponsor a jockey and €50 to sponsor a race. Please support.

Health and Wellbeing

Members are asked to note that Brian Galligan and J.J. Reilly are the club contacts in relation to health and wellbeing matters. Golf Classic

Golfers within the club are asked to note that our annual golf classic will take place in County Cavan Golf Club on Friday 10 July. Teams of 4 €160, tee sponsorship €50. If you have a team for this event or want to help out in any way please contact Joe Johnston or J.J. Reilly. It is hoped that many of those who played in our classic in the past will again take part this year. This year's golf classic is again kindly sponsored by Donal Keogan, The Imperial Lounge. Club Presentations

Members are asked to note that Cavan Gaels are holding a series of presentations in the Hotel Kilmore later in the year. Presentations will be made to the victorious u21 and senior championship panels, to married couples and to our first championship winning team of 1965.

Terry Coyle Park Development/Friends of Cavan Gaels

Work is well advanced on our new development in Terry Coyle Park. Our new shop and turnstiles are already in operation. Thanks to all those who have already supported our development through becoming Friends of Cavan Gaels. The money from this source along with our Sports' Capital Grant has enabled us to proceed with the building. We urge others who have not joined so far to consider signing up in the knowledge that, by so doing, they will be making a significant contribution, not only to the Terry Coyle Park development, but to the long term development of our young boys and girls.

Camogie

Coaching for our under-age camogie players takes place on Wednesday evenings in Terry Coyle Park from 6.15-7.15. Please note change of venue and day of training. Participants are asked to bring a water bottle and shin guards.

Tornadoes

The gaelic football training for 4-6 year olds continues in Terry Coyle Park on Saturday mornings from 11am-12 noon. New players are very welcome. For further information on the Tornadoes please contact John Fortune 087-6196002, Sean Fitzsimons 087-2051034 or Cian Donohoe 086-1295963.

Under-Age coaching for boys and girls

Coaching for boys from 6-12 takes place on Saturdays in Terry Coyle Park at the following times: u8: 11am-12.30; u10: 11am-12.30;  u12 : 11am-12.30. Coaching for girls is on Tuesdays at 6.30pm and on Saturday mornings at 10am.For more information on coaching please contact Mark Leddy on 087-8596498.

Summer Camp

Cavan Gaels are organising a Summer GAA Camp this year. At this camp young people can play football, camogie and rounders in a safe and fun-filled environment. Parents are asked to take note that this camp is taking place. Further details will be given later.
