Cootehill Celtic GAA History Talk: The Celtics in the 1960s

April 02, 2012
Cootehill Celtic GAA is hosting two very interesting talks on the History of our club on Tuesday 3rd April and the next week Tuesday 10th in the Cootehill Library both beginning at 7pm.

Local Historian and life-long club supporter Hugh O'Brien will deliver the talks with the "The Celtics in the 1960s" being the focus of the first night and "The Celtics in the 1970s" will feature next week.

As well as being a fan of the Hoops, Hugh is the author of "The Celts", the in-depth and comprehensive Cootehill Celtic GAA history book which was published in 1994 as part of the club's centenary celebrations.

Hugh is also an actor of some note having appeared in episodes of the iconic TV series "Fr. Ted" and movies such as "Ordinary Decent Criminal".

These talks follow on from the very popular talks - "The GAA in Cootehill" and "The Celtics in the 1950s" - which Hugh delivered back in October which were so well received.

Entry is Free of Charge but admission is by ticket only and places are limited. Tickets are available by phoning Cootehill Library on 049 5559873 or by calling into the library itself on Bridge Street.
