All to play for in SFC

August 14, 2008
The Offaly senior football championship throws up some interesting matches this weekend as Ballycumber are the only side guaranteed a place in the knockout stages. Having won their opening two matches and the teams behind dropping points, Ballycumber are assured of their place in the last six, while the other five positions are still very much up for grabs. County champions Tullamore must win against Shannonbridge and rely on Rhode to defeat Ferbane comfortably in order to make it through to the knockout stages. Rhode need at least a point to go through and should manage that against Ferbane. In group two all four teams are still win with a shout, but a win for Shamrocks and Tubber sees them through. Clara will be hoping to defeat Ballycumber and ease through, but a defeat for them could see the winners of the Erin Rovers and St Rynagh's emerge from group three.
