Defeat for Seniors
Hard luck to our senior team and management who were defeated in league action against Mohill last weekend. After an entertaining match Mohill ran out winners on a scoreline of 1-12 to 2-6. We had our chances, especially late in the second half, and on another day we may have taken a point or perhaps more. A number of injuries to key players didn't help our cause either. Team: E Lyons, B Reilly, T Reynolds, K Ward, D Lyons, G Reynolds, JP Mc Manus, N Doonan, C Flynn, E O' Malley, E Ward, Killian Ward, A Mc Manus, D Mc Govern, B O' Rourke. Subs: D Flynn, E Dolan, K Davey, M Dolan.
Injuries
Five players received injuries over the course of the weekend's action. Of these Gary Reynolds and Andrew Mc Manus' injuries were particularly serious and there remains a doubt over their participation in the championship. We wish both players a speedy recovery.
Congratulations Aughavas
Congratulations to our good friends and neighbours in Aughavas on the opening of their splendid new dressing room complex last weekend. The facilities, named after legendary Aughavas gael Packie Joe Mc Govern, are a credit to all in the Aughavas Club and in particular their Chairman Terry Williams, who does trojan work behind the scenes. Congratulations and well done to everyone concerned.
Coiste na nÓg Round Up
Hard luck to our U14 team who suffered defeat in their first match of the 15 a-side championship to Drumkeerin last weekend. They play another home match this Friday at 7pm in the park. Allen Gaels provide the opposition. A good crowd would be appreciated to support the lads. Well done to our minors who made the long trip to Kinlough last week and came away with the spoils on a scoreline of 1-12 to 1-10. They play their second round championship match against Bornacoola this evening in the park at 7pm. Once again your support would be greatly appreciated.
