McGinley set to return against Louth

July 02, 2008
Tyrone's Enda McGinley is confident he can win his personal fitness battle before the Red Hands travel to Louth on July 19 to play out their first round All-Ireland qualifier. The Errigal Ciaran's clubman suffered concussion during Tyrone's draw with Down in the Ulster SFC last month and missed the replay the following weekend, where Mickey Harte's side exited their provincial campaign in Newry. The midfielder took part in a club match the following week and had to be withdrawn from the game at half-time after he had felt ill, but has dismissed reports of a collapse on the playing field. "Maybe I was trying to get back a wee bit too fast, and it flared up and I felt a wee bit sickish," said McGinley. "It's been reported that I collapsed, but that's not the case. I was just feeling unwell, so I decided I'd take a break for the second-half. It was just letting me know that I wasn't quite ready to come back, but hopefully over the next couple of weeks it will settle down absolutely fine again." McGinley's gradual return to fitness should be welcome news to Mickey Harte along with the recent boosts of both Raymond Mulgrew and Owen Mulligan, who have resumed training after overcoming their own injuries.
