This weekends jackpot will be a record 20,000 euros.
This is the first time that the club jackpot has reached this figure.
To celebrate this fact the club has decided to change the match three three prize fund from two
hundred euros to two thousand euros provided that the jackpot is not one for just this weekend.
Well done to the U10s panel who last Saturday captured the 10 City
League title. In the final they beat Clarinbridge
The Barna/Furbo girls community games football team are contesting the
Girls U12 Galway Community games final in Ballinderreen this Sunday at
11.00 am.
The opposition on the day will be Claregalway / Lackagh. This is the
first final for most of the girls so support from parents and friends
would be most welcome. The boys team were due to compete in the u10s
final also on in Ballinderreen however the Tuam branch of the
community games have lodged an objection against the Barna Furbo boys
semi final victory. In the semi final the Barna/Furbo boys defeated
Tuam in Tuam after extra time was played. The Tuam branch of the
community games lodged an objection with the Community game's three
days after the match, objecting to the manner in which extra time was
played.
The Under 11 City League organised by Coiste Peil Cathair na Gaillimhe
is in full swing. Barna hosted Killanin on Wednesday night June 18th
at Furbo in the latest round and after a very closely fought game
Barna prevailed in the end by the scoreline of 1:5 to 1:3 Best for
Barna were Rory Taaffe, Morgan Codyre, Darragh Regan, Diarmuid McGee
and Séamus O'Ceidigh. Training continues on Saturday mornings at
10:15 at Barna pitch. The next City League match is away against
Leitir Mor next Sunday at 11:00
The application forms for this years cul camps are being posted out to
all juvenile members. All members are asked to fill them out and
return them to their trainer.
