McCabe facing double dilemma

June 23, 2008
Fermanagh attacker Shane McCabe could be in UEFA Cup action for Glentoran just days before the Erne County's Ulster SFC final against either Down or Armagh next month. Glentoran are scheduled to play on Thursday, July 17, in the first qualifying round and McCabe, who made 17 appearances for the Irish League side last season and is contracted to the club, could be asked to play. If this proves to be case, he will hope that the east Belfast outfit are handed a home draw for that leg, or else he could face an arduous away trip which would place his participation in the Ulster final on July 20 in some doubt. McCabe could also be expected to play in Glentoran's scheduled pre-season friendlies against Hearts on July 14 and Ipswich Town on July 19 - the day before the Ulster final in Clones.
