McBarron confident of upset

June 20, 2008
Fermanagh midfielder Liam McBarron is in his 13th year of inter-county football and the versatile player knows better than most the challenge that lies ahead against Derry on Saturday evening. Derry have been the form team of the year so far as following their success in the NFL, they put in a solid display against Donegal in Ballybofey to earn a place in the Ulster semi final. Given the fact that the Oak Leaf County have reached All-Ireland quarter and semi finals in recent years and it is easy to see why they are favourites against Fermanagh. McBarron acknowledges the fact that Derry are favourites for the tie, but he is by no means writing off his own side's chance of causing an upset. "You have to be very impressed by them so far. They are the National league champions and the level of performance against Kerry in the league final was the highest order," said McBarron. "All we want to do is try and work hard and the rest will look after itself. We want a good performance and that is what we will be aiming for. We can't worry about the next game; all we can do is concentrate on Saturday."
