Lohan wants Clare to apply 'pressure game'

Clare's long-serving defender Frank Lohan believes the work-rate of the Banner County attack will have a huge bearing on the outcome of Sunday's Munster SHC semi-final against Limerick.
The Clare forwards very extremely effective in closing down the Waterford defence in the last round, often forcing them into making hurried and misdirected clearances and full back Lohan - who is the only survivor from Clare's 1995 All-Ireland winning side - is looking for more of the same on Sunday.
"There's no question we're going to need that against Limerick again," he said.
"You need to give your backs a fighting chance and the way to do that is to make sure the opposition backs don't have time to delivery quality ball. If the back has time to pick out his forward, you'll be crucified. It's a pressure game, and it works in two ways; if the forwards work harder it helps their game in that it means they'll be on the ball more, and it helps the backs also."
After 14 championship campaigns, Lohan insists that retirement is still a long way from his thoughts.
"There's a huge commitment to get up to championship level but then you get results like against Waterford, and that was a great fillip. For this team to get into a Munster final would be huge, those days don't come often. Yes, I'm still enjoying it."
