Leinster under 21 games put back

June 17, 2008
The two Leinster under 21 hurling semi-finals have been put back to next week following last Saturday's drawn senior semi-final between Dublin and Wexford at Nowlan Park. Offaly and Wexford were due to face off in St. Brendan's Park, Birr - which was recently reopened following improvements to the pitch - on Wednesday evening with reigning champions Dublin down to play Kilkenny in Parnell Park. But due to several Wexford and Dublin players being involved in next Sunday's senior replay at Croke Park, the Leinster Council has agreed to a request to postpone the under 21 fixtures by a week. The Offaly-Wexford tie will now take place in Birr on Wednesday, June 25 at 7.30pm, while Dublin and Kilkenny will meet 24 hours later in Parnell Park. The senior semi-final replay between Dublin and Wexford will throw-in at 3.50pm in Croke Park on Sunday and will be preceded by the Leinster football semi-final between Wexford and Laois at 2pm. The minor hurlers of Dublin and Wexford will form a triple bill at GAA headquarters with their game getting underway at 12.45pm. The other minor semi-final between Kilkenny and Carlow takes place at Freshford on Saturday at 3pm.
