Kernan hails Orchard preparations

June 17, 2008
Armagh attacker Stephen Kernan has praised his side's training and preparation after the Orchard County's four-point win over Cavan on Sunday in the Ulster SFC quarter-final. The Crossmaglen ace described Sunday's win over the Breffni men as one "we had to work very hard for" and he believes that the groundwork that was done in the weeks building up to the match truly paid off in the end. "We didn't play to our full potential, but a win is a win. There was a lot of pressure on us going into the match because we had lost our last three Championship matches, so questions were being asked of us. "We went into the game in a relaxed frame of mind, though, and we believed in ourselves and were 100 per cent behind Peter (McDonnell) and the back room team. "The training has been excellent, the preparation has been second to none and the whole set-up just lent itself to a good performance."
