Shefflin impresses in comeback game
June 03, 2008
Henry Shefflin is expected to be included in the Kilkenny team for Sunday week's Leinster SHC semi-final against Offaly after he played a pivotal role for his club Shamrocks in their win over Young Irelands at the weekend.
Playing his first competitive game since rupturing his cruciate ligament in last year's All-Ireland final, the former Hurler of the Year hit 0-4 as the Ballyhale men ran out 2-19 to 2-14 winners in the senior hurling league clash.
John Tennyson, who is another of Kilkenny's long-term casualties, made a late appearance as a substitute for Carrickshock in their 3-15 to 0-11 defeat of Dicksboro in which Richie Power scored 1-10.
Noel Hickey also impressed at full back in Dunnamaggin's 1-17 to 0-12 victory over Tullaroan.
