SFC VS final: Castlewellan are the champions

St. Malachy's, Castlewellan (Co. Down) made history when winning their first All-Ireland Vocational Schools Senior A Football title at the expense (1-12 to 0-5) of St. Brogans of Bandon at Portlaoise. Castlewellan made their intentions known from the outset by striding into a 0-8 to 0-3 half-time lead with centre back Gerard McAnulty and Conor Poland in top form. Captain Paul Devlin led the way up front for the winners and scored six points in the second half with team-mate Chris Regan firing home the match-sealing goal as the game entered the final quarter.
