Quigley move set for November 30
November 17, 2007
Brendan Quigley's second attempt at Australian Rules football will not happen until the end of this month as the Laois star has to finish his apprenticeship as a electrician.
The towering midfielder already had a stint in Australia with the Brisbane Lions but returned home after feeling homesick. Carlton revealed they have received the go ahead to take Quigley as an international rookie.
It was feared Quigley wouldn't be able to attain rookie status after his brief stint in Brisbane. Carlton's manager of football operations Steven Icke confirms the details.
"The latest information we have from the AFL is that he's clear to be taken as an International rookie should we want to pick him," acknowledged Icke.
"Nothing can happen before November 30, so we will continue discussions up until then."
