Dromore cruise to maiden success

October 15, 2007
Dromore coasted past Coalisland to capture their first ever Tyrone senior football title in front of 11,000 spectators at Healy Park. Dromore...0-14 Coalisland.0-4 The game was practically over at half-time as Dromore held an eight point advantage at the break. Dromore were by far the hungrier team as they were first to every breaking ball and dominated in key positions all over the field. Plunkett Kane scored Coalislands only point of the first half as Dromore hit score after score to deflate the spirit of their opponents. Sean and Conor O'Neill hitt their first two points of the match. Some excellent last-gasp tackles and blocks were made by the Dromore defence on the few occasions Coalisland broke through, most notably from Ryan McMenamin and Fabian O'Neill. With Micky Garry excelling at midfield, Dromore scores were coming thick and fast. The superb Eoin McCusker finished every opportunity that came his way and hit three points in the first half. The second half proved a non-contest as Coalisland failed to offer any hope of the game turning into a competitive match. Shaun O'Neill was smothered late on when rounding the keeper but four scores in the last ten minutes extended Dromore's lead to ten in a resounding final performance.
