Begley boost for Limerick

Brian Begley
Limerick hurling fans are breathing a sigh of relief after it emerged that towering forward Brian Begley has not suffered a recurrence of the serious knee problems that sidelined him for two years.
Limerick manager Richie Bennis admitted that he feared the worst after the recently-married Begley was forced to retire with a knee injury during last Sunday's NHL win over Antrim.
"He got a belt and we took him off. We assumed that it was Brian's knee, but thank God our assumptions were wrong.
"He'll be fine for the Offaly game," Bennis said.
The Shannonsiders face Offaly in a NHL relegation play-off on Sunday week.
