Monahan steps down
January 24, 2007

Mick Monahan
Kildare referee Michael Monahan has surprised officials in the GAA by deciding to opt out of refereeing any more inter-county matches . . . at least for the foreseeable future.
One of the country's leading whistlers, Monahan has decided to concentrate his time on other commitments but will still make himself available to man the middle at club level.
The Raheens clubman departs the high-profile stage just 12 months after refereeing the All-Ireland SFC final and after a career which saw him take charge of SFC finals in each of the four provinces.
