Cha reflects on dream year

Cha Fitzpatrick Kilkenny
James 'Cha' Fitzpatrick has reflected on his unbelievable 2006 season with both club and county.
The brilliant young midfielder won just about every honour available to him during the course of the calendar year in what must rank as one of the most astonishing individual silverware hauls ever.
He helped himself to a Walsh Cup, national hurling league, Leinster championship and All-Ireland SHC with Kilkenny at senior level as well as Leinster and All-Ireland U21 honours. Throw in an All Star and the Young Hurler of the Year award! With Ballyhale Shamrocks, he claimed a county championship and starred in the Leinster club final demolition of Birr on Sunday November 25.
Looking back, he says: "It appeared that every time I picked up a hurley this year I won a match.
"Yes, it was a good year for me but at the end of the day hurling is about the team and it is all down to the team effort.
"The awards are nice but winning with your club and parish takes beating."
