Compromise Rules up for debate

A meeting will be held in Dubai next week where the future of the Compromise Rules shall be discussed as both GAA officials and their Australian counterparts look to reduce tours to every second year. GAA President Nicky Brennan and other GAA officials are set to fly to Dubai to continue discussions that first took place last January, but it is generally felt that series will be reduced. "We feel every year is a bit too much. Maybe, its expecting too much of players to play every year, given all the inter-county competitions that are organised, as well as club competitions. The feeling is that every two years would be better," said Brennan. Australia are due to travel here in October for this year's test series, but there are still some who are seething over the Aussies brutal actions during last year's tests.
