Michael Donnellan
Michael Donnellan's famous solo run for Galway in the 1998 All-Ireland football final against Kildare was voted as the "Greatest GAA Moment" by RTE viewers on Saturday night, May 7. The solo run, which Donnellan started in his own full back line and ended with Sean Og de Paor scoring a point, edged out Maurice Fitzgerald's late equalizing point from a sideline kick in the 2001 All-Ireland quarter-final between Kerry and Dublin for the top spot. Third place went to Offaly super-sub Seamus Darby whose dramatic last-gasp goal ended Kerry's five in-a-row ambitions in the 1982 All-Ireland football final. The highest placed hurling moment was John Fenton's wonder goal for Cork against Limerick in the 1985 Munster championship, which finished fourth.
