Western Gaels of Roscommon were crowned Connacht intermediate club football champions on Sunday, January 30 following an impressive 1-10 to 0-7 victory over Sligo champions Calry. The Gaels laid the foundations for victory in the first half when they built up a 0-9 to 0-1 lead and they put the result beyond all doubt after the resumption with a goal from Gerald Nolan a point by Ultan Mullerdy. Calry replied with six points from Benny Reilly, but they were unable to make up the deficit as Western Gaels ran out convincing winners. Tweet
