Roundup: Stradbally shock, James Stephens impress

November 14, 2004
The shock of the day in the AIB club championships was the win of Waterford champions Stradbally over Cork's Bishopstown in the Munster SFC, while James Stephens looked impressive in the Leinster SHC as they qualified for a final meeting with UCD. The Waterford champions Stradbally were worthy winners over Cork's Bishopstown at Pairc Ui Rinn. Elsewhere James Stephens comfortably disposed of the challenge of Oulart the Ballagh at Nowlan Park and earned a Leinster SHC final place against UCD, who beat Offaly champions Coolderry in the other semi-final at Portlaoise. Athenry won an expected Connacht SHC club title with a 15-point win over Ballyhaunis at Charlestown.
