Ardara.............................1-9 Sean MacCumhaills....0-4 There was no stopping Ardara as they cruised to victory over Sean MacCumhaills in the Donegal SFC final at Ballybofey on Sunday, October 3. Despite having home advantage, MacCumhaills never looked like ending their 27-year wait for senior honours. Ardara hit 10 wides in the first half but still led by 0-4 to 0-2 at the break. They stretched that to four points early in the second half before Kevin McCormack pointed two frees to keep MacCumhaills in touch. However, Ardara finished strongly with Jonathan Boyle's goal with 10 minutes remaining ending the game as a contest. Midfielders Brendan Boyle and Kenneth Doherty were hugely impressive throughout and contributed 0-4 fo the winners' tally. This was Ardara's sixth time to win the Dr Maguire Cup and among their star performers was county defender Damien Diver.
