Former Cork football sharpshooter James Masters racked up the miles on Saturday in pursuit of glory with the Cork ladies footballers and his club Nemo Rangers.

And his 260km dash from Roscommon back to Cork paid off as the Rebelettes and Nemo both pulled off big wins. A selector with the Cork ladies footballers, Masters was in Dr Hyde Park on Saturday afternoon to see the team book their place in the All-Ireland final thanks to a 2-11 to 0-11 victory over Donegal.

He then headed back down the road for Cork and arrived in Ballinlough 15 minutes before Nemo Rangers' City Division junior 'A' hurling championship final against favourites Brian Dillons. Lining out in goal, Masters helped the Trabeg club to a 2-17 to 1-17 victory to complete a hectic but memorable day.
