A talented Limerick side overcame Cork by 1-20 to 0-17 at Pairc Ui Chaoimh this evening.
Cathal O'Neill amassed an impressive 0-11 (four from play) for the winners while Cormac Ryan scored the all-important goal in the second-half.
After claiming the scalp of Tipperary in the opening round, the Treaty County entered the contest in a confident frame of mind.
They enjoyed a 0-12 to 0-7 cushion at the halfway stage.
Ryan's goal arrived midway through the second-half and boosted the team in green and white into a seven-point advantage.
They successfully kept a safe distance between themselves and the Rebel County for the remainder of the contest.
