The line-up for the Fitzgibbon Cup quarter-finals is complete after the group stages reached its conclusion tonight.

UL and LIT secured their places in the last-eight following victories against WIT and Garda College, respectively.

They join fellow Limerick side and competition holders Mary I - who narrowly beat NUIG earlier today to set up a showdown with DCU - in the quarter-finals.

UL comfortably saw off WIT in Carriganore by 2-19 to 1-8 to progress to the knockouts as group B winners - next up for the 2015 champions is a home tie with UCC.

Goals from Barry Murphy and David Gleeson either side of the break helped Gary Kirby's men to a routine win in the absence of star man John McGrath while Wexford goalkeeper Mark Fanning scored a late consolation goal for the hosts. 

Meanwhile, at Templetuohy, Clare marksman Peter Duggan hit 2-10 as LIT had to overcome a slow first-half to convincingly beat Garda College on a 3-18 to 1-7 score-line.

Davy Fitzgerald's charges were just two ahead at the interval - 0-7 to 1-2 but got to grips with their opponents on the restart to advance to a meeting with IT Carlow.

IT Carlow were also in action tonight as they maintained their winning run at the expense of Trinity College at Santry Avenue - 1-19 to 0-14.

With top spot in Group D and a home quarter-final already assured, DJ Carey's students enjoyed a resounding eight-point success with Marty Kavanagh finding the net during the early exchanges.

The other quarter-final sees Group A table toppers UCD at home to DIT in an all-Dublin clash.
