Tipperary forward Philip Austin is in no doubt that their style of play suits them.

Galway couldn't cope with Tipp's direct style as the Premier County ran out comfortable winners in their All-Ireland SFC quarterfinal clash last Sunday.

Tipp's style of play has earned rave reviews, although it is the style that every county have used for decades up until the last few years.

However, Austin told the Tipperary Star that they have worked hard in training to perfect their current style.

"I think our style of play suited us. We were more economical with the ball which meant we had to do less running. We were doing a lot of kick passing, which we were trying to do," said Austin.

"It worked for us and we didn't have to cover as much ground, but there was a lot of ground to be covered all the same. There were a lot of lads out on their feet.

"That's what we go training for, to practice these styles of play. When it finally comes to fruition, it's great to see, it's marvellous really. We've line-breakers all through the field and everybody pops the ball to the man.

"Everybody has great trust in the players they're playing beside and they're fighting for them you can ask for no more really."
