A GAA club in Co. Tyrone has been left reeling by a second arson attack in six months.
The attack on the Moy GAA clubhouse last night comes just a fortnight after the newly-renovated facility was reopened following an arson attack last September. A gym leased to local man Connell Donnelly within the premises bore the burnt of the attack.
The PSNI, who are investigating the attack, said a window was broken and petrol poured in before being set ablaze shortly before 11pm.
In condemning the attack, local councllor Dominic Molloy told the Ulster Herald: "I was there last night. The premises were badly damaged.
"After a similar attack six months ago it is a worry for the Moy club to ensure the secuoity of their premises and safety of their members. I condemn the attack outright.
"It is very sinister and seems that someone is trying to start tension in the area. It is very unfortunate for this young man trying to start a business. It is heartbreaking for him."
Moy GAA club chairperson Mary Daly also had sympathy for the gym owner.
"Connell rents this site from the club and opened it only weeks ago. We are devastated for him," she said.
"He is a young man with a young family and was buiding up the membership of his gym. He was there last night and was very upset."
Situated near the border with Armagh, Moy Tir na nOg is the club of Tyrone stars Sean and Colm Cavanagh.
