Cork have confirmed that 2010 All-Ireland winner Paul Kerrigan will captain their senior footballers this season.

The 29-year-old takes over from former skipper Michael Shields, who had held the armband since Graham Canty's retirement from inter-county football in 2013.

Kerrigan made his senior championship debut back in 2008, coming off the bench to score in the Rebels' Munster final victory over Kerry.

Since then the Nemo Rangers forward has gone on to win two more provincial titles, four National Leagues and an All-Ireland crown with the Leesiders.
