Ryan takes over Round Towers

Glenn Ryan celebrates

Former Kildare footballer Glenn Ryan has been appointed manager of his native club Round Towers for the 2016 campaign.

Ryan assembled something of a 'dream team' in his quest to become the new Kildare senior football manager, before being turned down by the county board in favour of Cian O'Neill.

Ex-county colleagues Anthony Rainbow, Dermot Earley and Johnny Doyle were all part of Ryan's backroom team, but they failed in their bid to replace Jason Ryan.

The former Longford manager was involved with Laois side Arles Kilcruise this year, but their campaign ended at the semi-final stage.

Now, the former All-Star will manage Round Towers who will compete in the intermediate football championship in 2016.
