Long serving Longford defender Dermot Brady has revealed that retirement was not a consideration at the end of last year.
Brady is lining out for his 15th consecutive campaign in the blue and gold and the Longford captain admitted to the Longford Leader that he is enjoying his football as much as ever.
On Saturday evening, Brady will lead Longford out in the Division Three NFL final against Offaly at Croke Park.
"No I hadn't any doubts, I always said, once I stayed injury free I was definitely going to give it a shot," said Brady.
The sides will meet in just over three weeks time in the Leinster SFC, but for now Brady is focused on Saturday's decider.
"We're hoping to get the win. Longford don't get to too many finals in Croke Park and when you do get there, you'd be hoping to win. We beat Offaly in the league and they'll come up all guns blazing and like ourselves, they'll be trying to set their stall out for the championship."
