Finn fears for club hurling

London and St Gabriel's Martin Finn
Former London stalwart Martin Finn admits that he fears for club hurling in the English capital.
The Cork native believes that more and more players are working and living in London, but travelling home to play with their clubs at the weekends.
Finn feels that it is too much too ask for players to be travelling over and back and he stated to the Irish Post that the county board need to look at the situation.
"It's definitely more than any time I've been here," said Finn. "And it's not good for hurling. There's a great calibre of hurlers than there has been during my time in London, but lots of them never play here.
"It's a massive pull. Clubs see players doing well here and they ask them to come back and just give us a season. It just doesn't impact the clubs they leave; it has a massive impact on that player, travelling back every weekend to play.
"You are neither here nor there. Your work is here; your friends are here and you're gone every weekend, not getting back until Sunday night."
He added: "We are being left behind now. The county board probably need to have a look at it. It's important to get the facilities right and not just focus on the new stadium."
