Niall Moran is back in training with the Limerick hurlers ahead of the Munster final against Cork on July 13.
The 31-year-old Ahane attacker, who announced his inter-county retirement last December after finally getting his hands on a coveted Munster medal after a decade of trying, has re-joined TJ Ryan's squad, although not in an official capacity according to his brother and former county star Ollie Moran.
"With Niall you never know," Ollie told hoganstand.com
"From talking to him, he's very non-committal (about going back full-time). From what I can gather, he's part of the training panel and was with them for a challenge against Waterford last week.
"I don't see him featuring against Cork, but you'd never know what role TJ has in mind for him. Maybe he's looking at the bigger picture."
Used as an impact sub by former manager John Allen last year, Niall has made 44 senior championship appearances for Limerick - four shy of Mark Foley's record - and it remains to be seen if he will close the gap on the Adare clubman before the season is out.
