OUR GAME: YOUR GAME
CAMOGIE CHALLENGE GAA FANS TO EMBRACE THEIR GAME AS THEY CELEBRATE their 11OTH YEAR

The Camogie Association launched the 2014 Liberty Insurance Championship with a new campaign that aims to bring the game to a wider audience.

Our Game Your Game will feature imagery and content and tell the back stories of inter-county camogie players including Mags D'Arcy of Wexford, Ashling Thompson of Cork, and Lorraine Ryan of Galway, during the course of the season and will reflect the power, skill and athleticism of the game of camogie and those who play it.

Speaking at today's launch, President of the Camogie Association Aileen Lawlor said:
"Focus, determination, skill and commitment are the qualities of all high performing athletes. Every Camogie player in this year's Liberty Insurance All Ireland Championship knows that. Every Camogie follower knows that.

Now, in our 110th year, we want all hurling and GAA fans and the media to look at our game and at the powerful, strong, athletic women who play it with new eyes. We believe that if you support the hurlers in your county, give equal respect and support to your county camogie players. It's your game every bit as much as it is our game. If you have never been to a camogie championship match we want you to come and see us play, and be part of the positive change that's happening in women's sport".

The President also unveiled a new video featuring inter-county camogie players Mags D'Arcy, Wexford, Lorraine Ryan, Galway, Ashling Thompson, Cork, Niamh Mulcahy, Limerick, Louise O'Hara, Dublin and Eimear Considine, Clare describing how they see themselves as players, which will be used to launch the campaign across social media channels over the coming weeks.

Camogie also unveiled a new championship loyalty card called "Cairde Camogie". The ticket allows access to all rounds of the Championship, including quarter-finals, semi-finals and All Ireland finals (Croke Park) for €40. In addition, County Boards will also keep 20% of all loyalty ticket sales. The ticket can be purchased via tickets.ie, GAA outlets and Centra and Supervalu stores.
Speaking at the launch CEO of Liberty Insurance Patrick O'Brien said:
"We are proud to continue our partnership with the Camogie Association as they celebrate their 110th year anniversary. As one of Ireland's leading female sports organisations, Camogie has a hugely important role to play in the continued promotion not just of one of our oldest games, but in opening up the sport to a new generation of potential players.

We were also delighted to recently announce our insurance of the Camogie All Ireland winners' medals in addition to those of Gaelic Football and Hurling, which will provide reassurance and security for the players by protecting what is so special to them".
The Liberty Insurance Camogie Championship will throw in on June 21st with Senior All Ireland holder's Galway playing Wexford in the opening round in Kenny Park, Athenry at 2.30pm. This game will feature on RTE "The Sunday Game". For a full list of fixtures go to www.camogie.ie
