Pic: American football pitch looks tiny in Croke Park
April 25, 2014

American football at Croke Park.
The ground staff at Croke Park have mocked up what an American Football field will look like at the venue and it looks lost within the huge dimensions of GAA headquarters.
Officials from both Penn State and the University of Central Florida are in Dublin at the moment in preparation for the Croke Park Classic, the American Football game between the colleges that will take place in August.
Goalposts have been erected and the pitch markings taped out on the Jones road pitch so that the college officials can get a feel for the venue.
However, all of this is just temporary and come 5pm tomorrow when the whistle is blown at the start of the Allianz FL4 final between Clare and Tipperary, Croke Park will look just the same as it does any GAA match day.
