Kilkenny will still be able to host their home national hurling league matches in Nowlan Park.
Up to a quarter of the roof of the old stand was torn off by high winds on Wednesday, leading to fears that the Cats might have to re-arrange their Division 1A home fixtures.
But chairman Ned Quinn says it will be business as usual at the county grounds, starting against Tipperary on Sunday week:
"The roof is certainly repairable. 20 - 25% of the roof was blown off," he told The Irish Examiner "We are in the process of cleaning up the debris and then we will move to surveying the cost of the damage.
"Were we to close off the Old Stand, we would still have the capacity to house 18,000 people and that is a figure I doubt we will reach for any of our three home games."
