A life-size bronze statue of the late Paidi O Se will be erected in West Kerry next year.
The news comes ahead of the official launch of the 25th Comortas Peile Paidi O Se in Dublin's Ballsbridge Hotel tonight. The launch of the tournament, which will take place on the weekend of February 21-23, will be performed by An Taoiseach Enda Kenny.
A committee has been formed to raise funds for the monument which will honour the Kerry football legend's memory. They're aiming to unveil the statue on May 16 2015, on what would have been Paidi's 60th birthday.
The statue will be erected outside Paidi's home in Ard A Bhóthair in Ventry. The holder of eight All-Ireland senior football medals, Paidi died suddenly in December 2012.
