Johnny Hanratty says Crossmaglen Rangers always feel that they've got a point to prove.

Having captured their 41st Armagh SFC, Cross' will open their defence of the Seamus McFerran Cup against Kilcoo of Down on Sunday.

"The main objective for us this year was to get out of Armagh - just to prove everyone wrong," Hanratty says in The Irish News.

"At the start of the year, everyone was writing us off. People were saying about all the boys who were gone and the thing is falling apart and there is a new manager.

"But, as it goes in Cross', we proved people wrong. We love doing that.

"If someone told us today we couldn't beat a team, we'd end up going out and beating them by 20 points. That's just the way we are."
