Holders Oulart-the-Ballagh will meet Ferns in the Wexford SHC final following their respective semi-final victories over Shelmaliers and Glynn-Barntown at Wexford Park.

Oulart finished strongly to end Shelmaliers' quest for a senior hurling and football championship double after an upset had looked on the cards early in the second half. With Conor Byrne on song from frees, the challengers led by 0-8 to 0-5 at the interval and they had extended their advantage to 0-10 to 0-6 four minutes into the second period.

But the champions refused to panic as Nicky Kirwan, Rory Jacob, David Redmond and Darren Nolan reeled off points in the final quarter to secure the win.

In the other semi-final, Ian Byrne inspired Ferns to a 2-12 to 1-10 victory over Glynn-Barntown. Six points from the midfielder, coupled with first half goals from Paul Morris and Tommy Dwyer, set up the victory over a Glynn-Barntown team that had reduced the margin to three points when Mark Fanning netted a penalty six minutes from the end.
