Minagh was part of the Cavan squad that reached this year's All-Ireland SFC quarterfinal and although he was an used substitute during the championship run, he did feature during the league.
The Redhills' club man is heading to Singapore for a year where he will be taking up a teaching post for the next 12 months.
The former county minor captain and Ulster under-21 winner will be a huge loss to both club and county.
