This Sunday will see a trophy in memory of former Laois county player Peter McNulty presented for the first time.
The Portlaoise clubman died suddenly in 2010 at the age of 25. An All-Ireland minor winner with the O'Moore County in 2003, he quickly made his way onto the Laois senior team.
The Peadar Mac an Ultaigh Cup will be up for grabs for the first time at this Sunday's U17FC decider, where Portlaoise will be particularly keen to claim the silverware when they face St Joseph's.
The Portlaoise club are encouraging their members to attend the final and remember their former player: "All senior players and members are asked to attend for this momentous occasion in memory of The Chief."
