Former Hurler of the Year Lar Corbett met his match on Saturday when he married fiancé Elaine Gleeson.

Corbett's team-mates - Paul Curran, Eoin Kelly, Paudie Maher, Pa Bourke, Eamonn Corcoran and Micheal Webster - formed a guard of honour with their hurleys as the bride and groom emerged from the Cathedral of the Assumption in Thurles.

Tommy Maher was the best man while Ger 'Redser' O'Grady and Tommy Collins were groomsmen.

The reception took place in the Anner Hotel while the newly weds were due to jet off to Rome on their honeymoon today before Lar returns to commence training for the new season. Tweet
