Tony Hogan Fund - Benefit Night
November 28, 2012
The Tony Hogan Fund
A benefit night will be held on the 30th of November 2012 in the Crown Moran Hotel, Cricklewood, London in aid of Brothers Pearse Hurling Club Captain, Tony Hogan.
Whilst out with friends and club mates after a club championship game on the 21st of July this year, Tony was involved in a serious road traffic accident where he was knocked down.
He had left his team mates minutes earlier to head home and was immediately transported to hospital where he remains in a critical care unit.
He suffered some near fatal injuries in the incident including a broken pelvis, facial and dental injuries and a fractured arm. Due to the nature of the injuries he was kept heavily sedated and under constant observation. His family were immediately informed and flew from their home in Lorrha, Co. Tipperary to be at his bedside. His mother Susan & girlfriend Sinéad has also kept a constant vigil since the accident.
His recovery will be a difficult task in which we as his club mates and friends will be uniting, to help himself and his family through this tough time.
Tony has been working as a Quantity Surveyor for Ardmore Construction in London for the past 3 years. He was a member of the London Hurling panel who won the Nicky Rackard and Christy Ring Cups in 2011 & 2012 where he played both league and championship for his adopted county. He was appointed as the captain of the Brothers Pearse Hurling Team for the 2012 season and his influence was seen on the field hours prior to the accident where he score 1-2 from play. He has also played football with the St.Kiernan's club in London.
Tony is a well-respected and hugely liked member of the GAA community in London. We are rallying together to help him in any way we can. We have set up a benefit night in order to raise funds to help with medical expenses along what will be a tough journey for Tony and his family.
