November 05, 2012

St Eunan's captain Micheal Martin lifts the Donegal SFC Cup at McCumhaill Park, Ballybofey. INPHO
ST EUNAN'S 1-7
NAOMH CONAILL 0-9
Lee McMonagle netted in the 50th minute to send St Eunan's on the road to victory at Naomh Conaill's expense in the Donegal SFC final in MacCumhaill Park, Ballybofey yesterday.
Naomh Conaill led by 0-8 to 0-6 with ten minutes remaining but McMonagle goaled against the run of play to parachute St Eunan's into the lead.
Daragh Gallagher hit a levelling point shortly after for Naomh Conaill who were the most impressive team for the majority of the contest.
And their chances of outright victory received a boost when St Eunan's were reduced to 14 men after substitute David McGinley saw red following an off-the-ball incident with Marty Boyle.
There was a dramatic finish to the game however when a misdirected sideline kick by Brendan McDwyer gifted St Eunan's a '45'.
Mark McGowan punished McDwyer's lapse in concentration to secure a 13th SFC title for St Eunan's.
