Louth U21 football manager Colin Kelly
Former Louth footballer Colin Kelly is favourite to become county senior manager.
Kelly has stepped down from his role as manager of the club side O'Raghallaigh's, while his cv is very impressive having guided the club to the IFC title last year, while also managing the Louth under-21s to the Leinster final this year.
The former county player informed the players of his decision in the wake of their exit from the senior football championship, when they were defeated by Newtown Blues.
Kelly looks set to have competition from St Patrick's manager Fergal Reel, who is believed to have Peter McDonnell on his ticket.
However, the county board have stressed that they will not be rushed into a decision to find a replacement for Peter Fitzpatrick.
