Hawk-Eye's debut on hold

May 19, 2012
Hawk-Eye's Croke Park debut has been delayed because of "technical problems".

The goal-line technology was due to make its debut on June 3 at the Leinster SFC quarter-final double-header between Wexford and Laois/Longford, and Dublin and Westmeath/Louth, but the GAA's Director of Games Development Pat Daly has confirmed that won't be happening now.

"Basically, we won't be running it until we're completely satisfied with it. There have been technical problems and they need to be addressed," he told The Irish Examiner.

"The date June 3 came out from somewhere but we won't be going live with it until we are happy that everything is in order."
