Jim's the gaffer - McHugh

Donegal's Mark McHugh
Mark McHugh says Donegal's players will do whatever manager Jim McGuinness asks of them.

Despite achieving phenomenal success last year, the Tir Chonail men came in for heavy criticism due to their style of play, but McHugh tells The Irish News' championship supplement that they have full faith in their manager's tactics:

"We will follow whatever Jim has laid out for us. That is what we will follow. Whatever he sets out, that is what we are going to follow.

"Apart from being a manager, we are good friends with him. We try our heart out for him. I have only played under two county managers - John Joe Doherty and Jim.

"The two of them are very good managers. Jim, being that bit younger, we can relate to him that wee bit more. He's been there. He kind of knew the way football was going.

"He has a massive knowledge of the game. He is a pure leader - and he is a real motivational character.

"You would respect him totally and whatever he says. He's a real good man, a good manager."
