No contact yet on Euro 2020 bid, says O'Neill

Liam O'Neill has confirmed that the GAA has not received a formal approach from the FAI regarding a possible bid along with Scotland and Wales to host the 2020 European soccer championships.
Croke Park, with its 82,300 capacity, would be needed to facilitate any such bid, but it has been closed to other sports since the Aviva Stadium opened two years ago. However, a rule change in 2010 means that Central Council now have the power to decide on whether to make the stadium available to soccer and rugby.
"It's only an expression of interest as far as I know," O'Neill said at yesterday's Opel GAA/GPA Monthly awards ceremony.
"I've heard nothing else about it, and we'll deal with it as it comes up. It might not happen and until it lands on our desk, our only focus is Sunday, getting our games going."
