Liam Shevlin knows Louth are in for a tough test when they lock horns with Westmeath.
The Dreadnots clubman will come into the reckoning for a starting place for the Leinster SFC opener at Navan on Sunday and he says in The Drogheda Independent:
"The first game of the championship is always one to look forward to and we're just starting to feel the buzz now.
"Please God, we get the right result on the day because it's definitely going to be a tricky one against Westmeath.
"They'll be looking for revenge after the last few times but I think this is going to be that little bit trickier with us missing a few lads.
"We'll have to knuckle down and fight for it. This will be tougher than any league game we played this year - it's championship football.
"The pace is quicker, the hits are harder and every single score counts. We have to get that in our mindset for Sunday."
