O'Sullivan calls time

Kerry's Tom O'Sullivan
Tom O'Sullivan's intercounty career is believed to have run its course.

Winner of five All-Ireland SFCs, O'Sullivan represented Kerry for 13 years but has opted not to return to training ahead of the May 27th Munster showdown with Tipp, effectively ending his time with the Kingdom.

The 33-year-old sat out the national league and has given no indication that he's prepared to return, so manager Jack O'Connor seems certain to omit him when he names his championship panel over the weekend.

The Rathmore man was full back in last Semptember's All- Ireland final and will be remembered as one of the Kingdom's greatest defenders, having made 76 championship appearances from 2000 until 2011.

O'Sullivan won an U21 All-Ireland in 1998 and made his senior intercounty debut in the league the following year. He played in ten All-Ireland finals, winning half of those and collecting two All Stars.
